We Came As Romans - Roads That Never End And Views That Never Cease

I really want to dislike these guys a lot. Their singing singer is is trying to prance around like Craig Owens. There is also a ton of manipulation going on, from the caked on auto-tune of the vocals to the enhancement of the music to the tired programming. Most importantly, though, a couple of these guys used to hang around at my college, obviously before they decided to officially take the plunge with their band. Most notably, the guitarist on the far right of the stage annoyed the hell out of me, as I would have to check him in on a consistent basis through our security program. He would always come in with his scene girlfriend and always had on some terrible band shirt and a carabiner with those 4x6 laminated passes that only guys in bands wore. I never understood why they wore them after the tour was over, though, and especially this guy since he clearly wasn’t touring at that point. I’d call it posturing. Clearly, the dude has earned his right to wear those placards through his music with We Came As Romans.

Despite all of this, I have to agree with Jordan that this band is doing this style of music as well as anyone. I would like to hear them with all of the manipulations stripped away to see if we’d say the same thing, but that’s a longshot. Plus, their screamer absolutely owns. He would be just fine fronting any number of reputable hardcore bands.
